Risk Manager to primarily review and monitor operational risks related to Head Office functions.Draft, review and implement risk management frameworks, policies, processes and procedures and risk tools.Collect and analyse operational losses, perform trend and root cause analysis.Recommend value add operational risk management solutions to reduce the risk of reoccurrence.Monitor adequacy and efficiency of risk processes and guide business area’s management where appropriate.Ensure that appropriate Risk and control self-assessments are performed and submitted by each allocated business unit.Ensure that risks identified are monitored, reported, escalated and that corrective actions are taken.Monitor non-compliance of key legislation in terms of risk management processes (NCA, Banks Act, Companies Act etc.)Continuously research risk management techniques and methodologies and introduce new risk initiatives.Management of the Bank’s Risk Financing and insurance portfolio, including review and renewal of the insurance programme, assessment of the risk profile in terms of losses and claims, recommendation of alternative risk financing options in consultation of insurance brokers, management of insurance claims.Central management of all bank-wide policies and frameworks (review, submission for approval, recordkeeping).Business Continuity Management: Co-ordination, monitoring and centralised reporting of the completion of Business Continuity plans. First line advisor for the completion of BCP’s and as reviewer to ensure quality and consistent BCP’s. Basic testing and awareness with the Business Continuity champions and act as liaison in the event of information having to be distributed. Assist with annual business continuity testing and reporting.Preparation of risk reports and quarterly risk committee packs.

Planning internal audit engagements.Performing internal audits on the entity’s control environment (which includes all divisions and branches of the company)- obtain an understanding of the processes, procedures and policies applicable to the environment under review- risk assessment- assessment of design and implementation of internal controls- evaluating control effectiveness throughout the period under review- assessing compliance to applicable regulatory requirements (FICA, NCA, Banks Act)Performing internal audits on the IT environment and systems- assessing and evaluating IT general controls- assessing and evaluating IT application controls.Reporting of audit findings to management- writing and reviewing audit reports.Leading audit engagements (auditor-in-charge).Performing peer reviews on colleagues audit work.Participating in internal audit team meetings and meetings with other staff members.

Statutory Audit of Companies:Planning, risk assessment and completion of audit files.Performing audit fieldwork on various sections:- Bank & Cash/Treasury, Human Resources & Payroll, Fixed Assets, Investments, Accounts Payable and expenses, Accounts Receivable and revenue, Other income statement items, VAT and Income tax.Participating in audit meetings internally and with client staff.Set up of financial statements & other reporting requirements (e.g. Reports to Management). Reporting to the Engagement Manager/Senior Manager/Partner as appropriate. Supervision of audit teams. Coaching and mentoring junior staff and monitoring their work.
