• Designed a field-effect ion sensor by using IGBT structure. The basic process flow and electrical characteristics was tested using Silvaco TCAD tool. The corresponding MOSFET, BJT, and LDMOS structures were also designed as reference devices. • Undertook device fabrication and performed factorial experiments for process optimization.• Set up electrical measurement platforms using semiconductor characterization instruments such as B1500, HP4155 and HP4284. Identified the causes of anomalies to provide feedbacks for improving the manufacturing process. • Establish a semiconductor ion-sensing system. Developed an analytical model from theoretical derivation to coding, interpreting the sensing mechanism and noise sources at the sensing surfaces.
