I'm a fresh graduate student and I am majoring in Biotechnology in Egypt. The coursework and research experiences have helped me realize that I am interested in understanding mechanisms responsible for age-related neurodegenerative diseases, autoimmune diseases, cancer, and heart disease. I believe that research in Genetics can help shine more light on these diseases, that are poorly understood. After being a part of the Young Egyptian Scientist Initiative: YES_2020" where I enhanced my technical experience in epigenetics in the area of cancer biology, as we investigated and comprehended the development of human breast cancer based on ceRNA theory which adds an impact on the treatment and diagnosis of this type of cancer, as well as gaining scientific writing skills, the basics of molecular biology lab techniques, bioinformatics basics, and how to conduct a systematic review.Additionally, I would like to contribute to finding a faster way to diagnose neurodegenerative diseases. After undergraduate studies, I am planning to get a PhD in Genetics and Molecular Biology. My goal is to use current technologies and invent new techniques for the diagnosis and treatment of age-related diseases.
