About Jami G.

As a recent doctoral student graduate, I am excited to introduce my Capstone Project: Making Connections Saves Lives: Social Prescribing Implementation Manual that will bring enhanced, complimentary education and support to current healthcare social services for older adult patients to the next level. The manual, and it’s being implemented will further the introduction of Social Prescribing to help the older adult population in the US, through personalized, non-medical, activity, and relationship-based services to reduce social isolation, loneliness, and social disconnect and save lives of people 65 years and older. I have spent many years as a caregiver and have earned my nursing home administrator and assisted living facility manager licenses; along with my Master of Social Work license. I have extensive experience as an Executive Director in the non-profit area; and have spent time traveling and living overseas. My diverse experiences and education (MBA and MSW) have allowed me to prosper and grow as a professional. I am excited to move my career into an area where I can provide support, resources, guidance and leadership to patients, families and staff. I believe everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect at all times and it is my goal to be an executive who does just that. I have a passion for working with seniors especially, being engaged and treated well at the end of one's life is just as important as nurturing children and other adults as they move forward in their lives. I also know my own limits and recognize the need for self-care and I encourage family members, staff and colleagues the importance of taking time for yourself so that you will have the energy, health and motivation to be more attentive no matter what position you hold. Outside of work, I paint, do fused glass projects and spend time with loved ones in my life...balance is key to being successful not only at work but at home.

My artistic career path started when I moved to Arizona in February 2008. I use COE 90 glass and additional materials to create full and tack fused pieces of unique and original mosaic, string and abstract designs for trays, dishes, bowls, hanging pieces and table art. I cut, heat and place each piece of glass to form colorful and distinctive visual art that can be displayed and enjoyed. I also paint (oil and acrylic) using photos for inspiration with a focus on landscapes, flowers and architecture.
