Coordinate with private sector stakeholders in the region in promoting agricultural technologies; Assist with agricultural technology demonstration and exposition in the region and in collaboration with Supply Side Partners (SSPs); Coordinate with SSPs and Demand Side Partners (DSPs) in promotion of agricultural technologies; Represent PATTA to relevant forums and organizations; Assist in the planning and organization various demonstrations in designated regions; Effectively liaise with PATTA senior management on all aspects of work plan implementation; Ensure the technical work of all local and expatriate consultants is appropriately conducted and completed, including ensuring the execution of all end-of-assignment deliverables and that other consultant and subcontractor performance results are a) consistent with and compliant with the consultant’s scope of work, b) of high technical quality and good overall readability, and c) acceptable to USAID and other component counterparts and beneficiaries; Liaise with the Government of Sindh, Departments of Agriculture, Plant Protection and Pest Warning, research institutes, Extension Department and other government agencies, to introduce PATTA and mobilize support and resources to implement project activities; Develop links between SSPs, DSPs and facilitating partners in Sindh for timely completion of Ag. Tech and Business development activities. Review and develop technical literature, reports, brochures and other project dissemination materials; Any other technical support related to the assignment as given by the Director of Agricultural Technology, Chief of Party and Deputy Chief of Party.

Work under the guidance and supervision of Project Manager. Maintain good working relationships with government and private sector project partners / stakeholders. Develop work plans aligned with the project objectives - with advice and support of project partners. Track the work plans associated with the relevant project partners and submission of weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual, and any emerging reports. Facilitation of project partners in achieving project deadlines/milestones committed with the funding agency. Design and conduct experiments in social and natural science context in field and laboratory conditions. Write journal papers, develop project reports, develop brochures, and present scientific publications. Organize and conduct meetings, workshops, seminars, visits, and briefings. Facilitation of project partners in implementation of the project following the CABI’s financial and policy guidelines. Maintain portfolio of the project in social, press, and electronic media. Any other assignments required for satisfactory completion of the key role requirements.

Sindh

Prepare detailed implementation plan of Better Cotton Standard System (BCSS) for Producer Unit.  Manage survey for selection of potential cotton growers with the coordination of Field Facilitators (for coming season).  Ensure the registration of cotton farmers of Producer Unit’s specified category and number.  Facilitate the farming community regarding Better Cotton production.  Meetings with farmers for monitoring, verification, capacity building and backstopping  Ensure the necessary documentation and trainings record maintenance at Farm and Producer Unit level.  Develop the cotton farmer’s guidance material for Better Cotton production.  Prepare and submit activity reports to line manager.  Prepare and compile the technical reports of registered cotton growers to study impact of the activities.  Facilitate the Women Trainer to conduct cotton picking training for cotton pickers.  Complete and timely submission of any sudden assignment given by line manager.  Conduct the self-assessment for Producer Unit.  Facilitate the shadow Self-Assessment, Credibility check by IP & BCI, 3rd party verifications process.  Collect and update the record at Farm and Producer Unit level. Collection of seed cotton data (available and sold) and sharing with Better Cotton Initiative.  Preparation, verification and submission of Result Indicator Report (RIR) for registered farmers.

Participated in training delivered by BCI according trainer and attend any subsequent refresher training (as required by BCI).  Prior to the first growing secession conducted a number of awareness raising meetings on the issues of sustainability in the cotton sector (tailored to the local situation and the production system) and the requirements of Better Cotton Standard System for farmers to take and informed decision on whether they want to participate as Better Cotton farmers or not.  Categorized farmers into smallholders or medium farms.  Made by group farmers into Learning Group (for smallholders only)  Provided training to farmers on the requirement of the Better Cotton Standard System during the cotton session.  Ensured the farmers can maintain as Farmer Field Book and learnt from it.  Assessed the level of adoption/progress at Learning Group/medium farm level.
