The One Map Policy is a strategic direction in producing a single, integrated, nationwide spatial map that refers to one geospatial reference, one standard, and one database. In February 2016, the President issued Presidential Decree No. 9/2016 on the One Map Policy to speed up the implementation of the policy as mandated by Law No. 4/2011 on Geospatial Information. The One Map Policy aims to solve problems, such as rampant land disputes, that have arisen from the use of different data and maps for decades.Imam is a former staff at the Secretariat of One Map Policy as a Spatial Conflict Analyst and Reporting. He was responsible for supporting the daily activities in the Secretariat and liaising with ministries/ agencies. He contributed to the design, planning, and writing the annual report of One Map Policy including assessment and updating progress.

Committee on Economic Development Acceleration and Expansion of Indonesia (KP3EI) is the secretariat established by the Decree of the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs. KP3EI supports the implementation of MP3EI (Masterplan for Acceleration and Expansion of Indonesia’s Economic Development 2011-2025). MP3EI is aimed at implementing the 2005-2025 Long-term National Development Plan, which is stated in Law No.17/2007, the vision of the acceleration and expansion of Indonesia’s economic development is to create a self-sufficient, advanced, just, and prosperous Indonesia.Imam is a former staff at the Secretariat of KP3EI as a Regional Development Analyst. His main responsibility was to analyze regional policy and project investment for various infrastructure and growth centers in Indonesia. He played an important role in research and development for the acceleration of regional economics and infrastructure.

To assist his lecturer Mr. Dr-Ing Asnawi Manaf in developing their collaborative research about community development. They have done some qualitative studies that focused on the collaboration between Local Government and community in the Poverty Reduction Program with a community-based approach (PLPBK – Community Based Neighborhood Upgrading Program). In those studies, they explored the dynamics and the challenges of implementing the PLPBK program as the last intervention of PNPM-Mandiri in the urban area. They took case studies in Pekalongan City and Kendal Regency which have been viewed as successful in implementing the program. In 2014, Imam and Mr. Asnawi developed their research to explore a mechanism for pro-poor budgeting of the poverty reduction program that was implemented in Pekalongan City called the Accelerated Development Program Community-Based Family Welfare (PAPKSBM). PAPKSBM emerged from the initiative of the Mayor of Pekalongan who wants to accelerate poverty reduction with the community-based approach.

He did his internship as an Urban Specialist Assistant. He focused on framing the Spatial Planning Document at Tegal City, Central Java Province. This internship gave him experience in implementing his knowledge in the spatial pattern of land uses, zoning, growth control, transportation, and environment as well as promoting economic growth of urban areas via models and techniques.
