I am an experienced, integrative counsellor and psychotherapist. The foundation of my work is to provide and build a trusting relationship with you, which creates a containing space for your own growth. My life experiences have generated a deep interest in human relationships, development and interaction. My own personal journey towards progress and change and self-acceptance led to studies in Humanistic theory and a wide range of approaches and theories from different schools of psychology.I offer an integrative therapy which makes use of knowledge and skills from several counselling styles including cognitive therapy (CBT) and person centered therapy; this approach enables me to adapt the counseling style to suit the individual needs of each person I work with. I offer a calm, confidential and non-judgmental environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings with ease and objectivity.I have many years of experience in working in the voluntary sector for a non-profit charity that helps vulnerable families.I pursue ongoing professional development training and have regular supervision to ensure that my work is supported and contained.My role as a counsellor is not to tell you what to do, or make decisions for you; it is to help you connect with your inner resources and look at ways to identify and work through a process of unlocking. This can be attained through a change of attitude, thoughts, processes and perspectives. By exploring the roots of the problems, we develop emotional awareness to heal old wounds. Changing old destructive patterns of behavior can ultimately lead to feelings of peace and harmony and reduce the stress.
