I am a 4th year Honors Nursing Student at Northeastern University, and I currently have hopes of becoming a Psychiatric Nurse. I have worked with neurotypical and neurodivergent children since 2013 in preschools and absolutely adore working with this demographic. I have clinical experience with pediatric patients from working at Massachusetts General Hospital on Ellison 17/18, a general pediatric floor with a variety of diagnoses. From my experiences, I have gained proficiency and mastery in communication with the children and also with my team members, patience, enthusiasm, and problem-solving skills. I am also beginning to gain more exposure to the psych world by continuing to work at MGH with the additional unit of APS: Acute Psych Services. We take in a variety of ages and sectioned and unsanctioned patients with a variety of psychiatric diagnoses. This experience helped cement the deliverance of trauma-informed care as well as reinforcing the other clinical skills I developed in the pediatric unit.

Team LeaderJumpstart Sep 2022 - Dec 2022I've moved up within a year and was a team leader! I had a team of Northeastern students who I prepped and trained, and then they went into the classrooms each week to engage with the children based on the lesson plan I distributed for the week. I also engaged with the children by reading a variety of books with them and imbedding everyday knowledge and language to them. I also worked with other team leaders to learn more about the role, what others were doing in their classrooms, and to better prepare for the week. -
