About Imani Stewart-Jackson
My favorite things about first grade were Show & Tell Friday, being elected to the Student Council, and doing projects that consisted of gluing macaroni on paper on the weekends. I had no idea that those activities would be a glimpse into my future life. My love for Show & Tell turned into me helping people and organizations tell their stories. The time I spent in Student Council showed me the importance of advocating for yourself and your peers. Gluing macaroni on paper has turned into a love for project management. I believe that innovation, communication, and change are everyone’s responsibility. Over the past decade, I have consulted with daycares to funeral homes about telling their story to grow their community and customer base. For the past six years, I have assisted some of Philadelphia’s most beloved non-profit organizations with staying innovative and implementing change in their ecosystems. This led to increased efficiency, impact, and income. Most recently, I have been honored to be a Communications Director for the City of Philadelphia. The Philly Counts team helped Philadelphia become the most COVID-19-vaccinated city amongst the ten largest cities in the United States of America. My love runs deep for Philadelphia. I am committed to making it more equitable and peaceful for all that reside here. I am a Philadelphian Historian with a focus on Black Philadelphia History. As a 5th generation Philadelphian, my family has been here since 1871. I am committed to making Philadelphia a more innovative, equitable, and better place to live. A promise my great-great parents made that lives on with me. I am excited about connecting and increasing our impact together.
