My work is rooted in transforming and rewriting the commercial and systematic narratives of Black and Brown people. I have always been fascinated by race and beauty however as I examined contemporary art and print magazines, I couldn't find myself the veil of whiteness. Mediums like photography became my vehicle to confront the projected images of whiteness, beauty, fashion, oppression, and cultural exclusion. My work is both a critical response and archival footage. My work is visual documentation that has the power to transform the ways we embrace our uniqueness, culture, history, tradition, fashion, body, and skin.
