MBA Placement Project: Development of Business Growth Strategy for Durham Energy Institute (DEI)- Scope and deliverables: development of 5-year business growth plan. Research included qualitative interviews to evaluate organisational readiness for change. Final project report put forward proposal for aligning operations to strategy in addition to recommendations for interventions to support proposed growth plans. Recommendations were readily adopted for implementation by Client.

Key responsibilities:- plan, manage, and facilitate strategic planning processes (including annual strategy reviews)- lead the strategy team in performing situational analysis, scanning the external environment to identify emerging industry trends, market opportunities etc., and analysis of internal capabilities as well as identification of capacity gaps- synthesise results of situational analysis to develop/update corporate growth strategy, along with proposals for supporting growth requirements within different BUs and functional areas of the company.- operationalisation of the strategy through design of the balanced scorecard and setting of strategic targets and measures for monitoring execution of strategy.- cascade strategic objectives to business units and oversee development of Business Unit scorecards, ensuring alignment of Business Units operations to company strategic goals. - evaluation and reporting on progress of strategy execution, proposing interventions for alignment of low performing business units- deliver presentations to Board of Directors.

Key responsibilities:- study Requests for Proposals issued by Clients - prepare/ manage preparation of financial and technical proposals (including work programmes, staffing schedules, and risk management plans)- prepare project agreements and participate in contract negotiations. - prepare Expressions of Interest and Prequalification documents - Record and analyse bidding success rates, identifying trends and reporting to Dept. head.

Key responsibilities:- Assist in monitoring progress and performance of ongoing projects across the company.- Assist in design/enhancement of operational and project management processes across the company.
