I was working on the research project which involved, the testing of a multicomponent vaccine against MRSA in a Sus scrofa domesticus skin model. The goal of my research was to demonstrate the efficacy of a multicomponent vaccine in pigs against MRSA skin infections, as well establish an infection model to create a better understanding of the immunopathogensis of s. aureus upon infection. I gained experience in planning and handling of in vivo research studies, scientific research, production of vaccines, handling patents, laboratory techniques in immunology and microbiology, and as well as recording of research data, and further analysis by using statistics and other mathematical tools.
