When I was in first grade, I was told by my teacher to write a paper about friendship. Now, being the incredibly resourceful child I was, I stole a quote from a decoration in my room and included it at the end of my essay. I still remember it to this day: “Gems may be precious, but friendship is priceless” (Unknown). My teacher couldn't believe that such a young child could produce something so creative. Ironically, this experience made me realize I love writing. I no longer steal quotes about friendship from other writers, but I do enjoy inspiring others with my writing. That's why I want to share my writing with others by becoming a copywriter. Currently, I write for the IU South Bend's English blog, "The Deadline", where I practice my communication skills in a group environment.
