I created Outset Ventures as a space for science-based startups to build and experiment from the earliest stages in a community of fellow venture founders. Under my leadership, Outset Ventures has; - Grown to be the largest science venture incubator in the country, managing 4500 square meters of research and development facilities - Raised and invested a $10M deep technology focused venture capital fund - Supported a portfolio of 22 science-based startups across a breadth of industries with a variety of business models - Become a well-recognised and well-connected innovation hub with partnerships with a variety of research organisations, public agencies, and investment firms - Advocated for its 300-strong community of founders, scientists, investors and advisors, influencing government policy

The Council was established to support greater alignment of government interventions to develop New Zealand’s startup ecosystem, enabling more targeted policies to address areas of greatest need. The Council aims to enable more startups to be created and scaled up, and accelerate the growth and maturation of the ecosystem to unlock the potential of innovative New Zealand companies. During this appointment, I collaborated with various stakeholders, from Ministers and policy advisors to startup support agencies and specialist research organisations, for the purpose of writing robust, inclusive, and impactful policy recommendations. The product is the "UpStart Nation" report.

The Science for Technological Innovation National Science Challenge (SfTI) – Kia Kotahi Mai: Te Ao Pūtaiao me Te Ao Hangarau, is a 10-year (2014-2024) science investment tackling New Zealand’s high-tech challenges to grow our economy and prosperity through physical sciences and engineering. As a Rangatahi Advisor, I help lead the development of a youth-lead Spearhead project with $3m of funding, among other facets of the rangatahi strategy.

Selected as a Leader of Tomorrow to participate in the GapSummit 2019 at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. GapSummit is the premier, global, intergenerational biotechnology summit that attracts world leaders and the next generation of leaders to substantively discuss pressing challenges facing the bioeconomy and catalyze innovation to address these challenges.

Chiasma is a nation-wide student-led organisation that encourages innovation by fostering connections between STEM students and the wider industry. Responsibilities include:- Recruiting, developing and leading a team of 26 committee members- Managing Chiasma’s programme of events to a member base of over 1500 student members and 200 industry professionals- Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and supporters- Managing the 5-figure budget as well as securing new sponsorshipDuring my time as CEO, I have led a number of new initiatives to add more value to both our student members and industry supporters. The most notable of these initiatives was the Nexus Recruitment Event, an opportunity for students seeking internships to connect with biotech companies looking for interns on a one-to-one basis.

Chiasma is New Zealand's premier student-led organisation that encourages innovation by fostering connections between STEM students and industry members. This executive role in the organising committee focuses on Chiasma's industry connections, as well as manages the team responsible for:- Running a mentorship programme which includes recruiting industry mentors, selecting student applicants, organising networking events and providing support throughout the year- Organising site visits to commercial laboratories for students- Writing and publishing a quarterly newsletter- Recruitment of exhibitors for Synapse, Chiasma's flagship event

The Biotech & Life Sciences Investment Committee represents expertise in drug development, clinical therapy, and medical device technologies and the wider biotechnology space. The Momentum Investment Committee is a first-of-its-kind committee focusing solely on student-led ventures.
