CurrentSoWhat is a brand strategy and design agency that helps brands leap into a weird future. We launched SoWhat through our passion for helping brands grow--from startups focused on scaling to global brands needing more agility and relevance. The name SoWhat, is based on the track, So What from an album called Kind of Blue, Miles Davis composed in 1959 as the world was entering a decade of cultural turbulence. Davis' approach was very different–he balanced the structure of standardized scales with the flexibility of improvisation to create one of the best selling jazz albums of all time, "a defining moment of twentieth century music." His approach actually foreshadowed the same approach SoWhat uses today by connecting systems thinking to design--balancing stability and change.
