I am a creative, intuitive and independent researcher with a passion for problem structuration in complex societal issues, particularly those characterized by controversy and stigmatization. I facilitate public engagement and have a natural inclination for appreciative inquiry. Moreover, I enjoy listening to the students I teach, and love to stimulate them to widen their perspective.I have a PhD in Responsible Research and Innovation. My case study concerned the responsible development and embedding of neuroimaging technologies in justice and security. I have a background in biochemistry (MSc Chemistry cum laude 2001, University Utrecht,) and in qualitative and quantitative research in the health and life sciences (MSc MPA cum laude 2011, Vrije Universiteit). I have a broad experience in teaching courses in several domains and have worked in the field of science communication.
