Twenty seven years ago, my husband and I created Proaji (now called Uchu) in Ecuador. We have since expanded our operations to Peru and have continued to grow and produce different chili varieties, while maintaining our sustainable agricultural harvesting and production practices. I am a marine biologist who ended up working with the land instead of the sea. This was certainly unexpected, but I have enjoyed this journey's unpredictable twists and turns. My career in the agricultural sector has allowed me to continue working with the Earth's (non-human) beings, design efficient, sustainable and fair ways to produce food. My company and I continue to strive to produce the best quality chili peppers in sustainable ways while always respecting the Earth's environment, its people and your food!
