Chief Stationary Engineer
CurrentCurrently reporting to Facilities Maintenance, responsible for fire, safety, security and general maintenance for all Wastewater Enterprise sites. Duties include, but not limited to, project upgrade support, staff supervision, and managing vendor services. For over 4 years, reported to the Superintendent of Bayside Operations as a Chief, recommend, direct and review plant treatment processes, sampling programs and wastewater system dynamics to assure regulatory compliance and cost efficient treatment goals. Methods employed may include communication and sharing of goals and objectives, the setting and verification of process control parameters and the review and interpretation of operational data and results with the rotating Operations staff, Administrative Managers, Laboratory and Engineering Groups. Regular meetings, discussion and DCS and log sheet review with the rotating watches at the morning turnover meetings. Development of expert operational teams from Watch 6 personnel to use methods for quickly and effectively detecting, identifying, diagnosing and correcting problems with the treatment process through special investigation, troubleshooting and testing. Act as a liaison representing Division Management/Operations/Rotating Watches with various internal and external agencies. Test, purchase, and inventory control of chemical supplies such as polymers, disinfection and odor control chemicals and process aiding chemicals and process equipment prior to purchase. Participate in Budget Preparation and expenditure analysis. Train, mentor and evaluate staff.
