Helping others is my passion. Becoming a nurse was my call. At 12 yrs old I knew I wanted to be in healthcare when my oldest sister was battling Lymphoma Tumor. Family is very important. I'm a great team player, I won't stop till the job is done, I pay attention to detail, fast learner, a great communicator(Bilingual- Spanish), and adapt to changes quickly. Experienced in inpatient healthcare for 10 years as a Staff nurse, Triage Nurse, and Charge Nurse on Medical-Surgical units, Labor & Delivery, and Antepartum. Women’s health in an OB/GYN office, and in home health for high risk pregnancies in the DFW area, and currently in research nursing role with OB/MFM department. This September is my 18 year anniversary in the nursing profession. It’s been several years away from bedside nursing. Would need to re establish competencies with Fetal Monitoring, NRP, ACLS. In my experience I have provided care of mother/baby during Antepartum, Intrapartum, and Postpartum stay. Various Medical surgical units; most recent Urology/women's services. Used Perinatal centricity for fetal monitoring and procedures, care plans, assessments. Meditech for EMAR, order entry, and reviewing labs. Assist with bedside procedures such as epidural placement by anesthesia, AROM, medication administration, operative vaginal delivery, hemorrhage protocol. As triage nurse would see patients under supervision of Hospitalist. Staff nurse and relief Charge nurse on high risk 20 bed Antepartum unit. -
