In this role I managed interdepartmental teams involved in our suite of network optical and power monitoring products, typically software and hardware systems to manage the reliability of large telecommunication networks in the CATV and telecommunications markets. In this capacity I lead the company’s business unit with the largest revenue contribution, managing customer relationships, driving product roadmaps, and working with partner sales & marketing teams to bring Cheetah solutions to a worldwide base of customers. Increased OEM revenue from 46% of company revenue to 74% through the establishment of long term supply agreements, new product development commitments, and new products for developing markets. Negotiated a comprehensive agreement with Motorola Mobility for new embedded technology and global software sales resulting in a revenue increase of $6.3M over two years. Negotiated a new product development agreement with Arris Group, resulting in revenue increase of $3.2M over two years.     During this part of my nine year tenure with Tollgrade I served as the overall sales executive, managing worldwide sales and sales engineering teams, and the defacto general manager of the division during its reorganization and spin-off. Serving under the company president of the then public company I was a member of the Executive Council, and managed all aspects of the Cheetah network assurance portfolio, which included hardware and software solutions for distributed performance monitoring of HFC networks (and video, voice and data services) from headend/hub to customer premise. While preparing the unit for sale I implemented a salesforce and sales channel realignment, resulting in 38% decrease in unit operating expense during the two year period, while presiding over a carefully executed growth in OEM sales. Closed $7.4M in new business with Alpha Technologies and negotiated development and supply agreements with OEM partners Harmonic and Cisco Systems resulting in the industry’s first DOCSIS transponders for optical nodes. Served as an executive member of the divestiture team, ultimately resulting in the sale of the Cheetah product line. To this end, I managed a diverse direct salesforce and sales partner network with sales assets in Australia, Austria, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Columbia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Israel, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States; and US territories Guam and Puerto Rico. Our results were transformative. International sales, as a percentage of company revenue, grew from 5% to 45%, achieving record sales of cable and telecommunications assurance products in Africa, the Americas, Asia and the Middle East. Other notable achievements include closing substantial accounts with Saudi Telecom and Telkom South Africa, and the company’s first sale of a new cable VoIP (Voice over IP) network assurance product line (Mexico/2005). During this period I served on the due diligence team for two key acquisitions (Emerson Test System product line from Emerson in 2006 and Broadband Test Division from Teradyne in 2007), deeply immersed in the valuation and integration. Left position due to promotion within the same company.
