The Impact Unit at Wissenschaft im Dialog was established to enhance meaningful evaluation and impact orientation in science communication. As a project manager, I was tasked with conducting analyses of the status quo in science communication (through document analyses, interview studies, online-surveys), deriving essential needs of scicomm practitioners from the results and developing an evaluation toolkit to adress those needs. Since then, the Impact Unit has published 27 tools, including a How-To-Guide through the evaluation process, worksheets and templates, a collection of videos based on fictional user cases and the interactive decision tree for evaluation planning, which has been translated into English and Hebrew. Another aspect of the position included community building, organising events to discuss evaluation in scicomm, developing and giving workshops on evaluation and strategic planning, presenting analyses and tools on conferences as well as consulting scicomm practitioners regarding their evaluation efforts.

As project manager for evaluation at Wissenschaft im Dialog, I accompanied three projects: A science variety show, an initiative for citizen participation in science and the mobile exhibition as well as the event program of a scicomm project on the energy transition. In this role, I am responsible for developing evaluation concepts in consultation with relevant stakeholders, preparing evaluation instruments, collecting, analyzing, interpreting and reporting the data.

Editorial work for the German online platform Wissenschaftskommunikation.de, which publishes news, interviews and commentaries on the state of science communication, showcases scicomm formats and newest research as well as job listings and events. The position entailed conducting interviews, editing guest articles, newsletter and social media management, website maintenance and further development of the platform's offerings.
