Immanuel Ovemeso Umukoro is a Senior Research and Policy Manager at Tech4Dev – a non-profit social enterprise that creates and facilitates access to decent work/entrepreneurial opportunities and platforms for Africans through digital skills empowerment and advocacy. He is also a Certified Digital Finance Practitioner (CDFP) from the Fletcher School, Tufts University, USA, and a Certified Gender Equality Changemaker by the Center for Sexualities, Aids and Gender (CSA&G), University of Pretoria, South Africa.His body of work is centered on digital transformation and strategic management with special focus on the digital and creative economy. His research and strategic consultation are evident through his work on digital readiness, digital financial services, product management, technology adoption and use, digital platforms and the sharing economy, innovation and technology transfer studies, business information systems, process management, consumer studies, and development & management information systems. Immanuel’s work also unpacks how ecosystems emerge and what strategic options are most appropriate for winning and leading in a digital era. He supports some critical research projects in strategy and digital finance at the Lagos Business School, Pan-Atlantic University, Nigeria where he also leads sessions in business process improvement, digital business transformation and strategic management, business model innovation, and ecosystem emergence. He has several academic publications in renowned journals, books and industry reports. He is both an author and a co-editor of the book 'Africa's Platforms and the Evolving Sharing Economy: Opportunities, Challenges, and New Research Frontiers'. Immanuel is a certified digital money expert by the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University, USA. He also holds a certificate in interoperable and inclusive payment systems, and digital financial services in emerging markets (Leading Digital Money Markets) jointly awarded by the Fletcher School at Tufts and Digital Frontiers Institute. He is also certified in research and grant development by the INASP|AuthorAID Foundation. He is chartered with the Nigerian Institute of Management and an Associate of the Centre for Global Enterprise (CGE) where he obtained a distinction in Platform Management, Strategy, and Innovation.
