Will is currently a Technical Artist at Meta, responsible for the artistic integrity and quality of AR/VR experiences within Reality Labs utilizing traditional and non-traditional tools. He was originally hired in 2022 as an on-site Art Director working with Meta Spark experiences and now works on forward-thinking hardware and software.He's overly passionate about the use of technology to create artistic vision and improve the human condition through experience - be it digital, physical, or the juxtaposition of the two.In his spare time, he self-publishes an Immersive Design Reader: an online guide for designing beyond a screen. He’s worked on installations, virtual/augmented reality, video games, alternate-reality games, and bespoke immersive spaces, freelancing as a creative technologist and immersive designer since mid-2018.While at Vrse.Works (later renamed Here Be Dragons), Will rose to a Creative Technologist role, bridging the gap between traditional filmmakers and realtime developers. He researched and implemented new VR and AR technologies for award-winning projects Dispatch, The Last Goodbye, Legion: Mixed Reality Sessions, and Chained: A Victorian Nightmare.Before Vrse.Works in 2016, Will had speaking engagements at SXSW and NYFF following the success of his last undergraduate project, Ricerca, which was brought to HTC Vive and became one of the first VR experiences on Steam worldwide on VivePort. Enamored with the interactions between people and the stories around them, Will learned to code games and interactive experiences during his undergraduate years at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, producing and directing several thesis films before transitioning to alternative forms of storytelling.While working every role possible, Will has an affinity for technology to create stories and change people. He also abhors writing in third person.
