About Imogen Haig

I believe that yoga can cultivate a greater awareness and understanding of the body and how it moves; and that yoga can untie and unbind the habitual knots and patterns of movement we acquire over time. By focusing on the breath, body and mind I also believe that yoga can help people to unwind and de-stress, develop strength and flexibility, and improve mental and physical balance. My teaching style is genuine and non-judgemental, and my influences are my teachers Jane Dawson, Vanessa Lynch and Denise Irwin, the faculty at Camyoga, and the approach to yoga of Judith Lasater and Vanda Scaravelli.Prior to becoming a yoga teacher, I worked for over 20 years in the arts sector, managing the Florestan Trust and Peasmarsh Chamber Music Festival, working with the British Museum, the Art Fund, Salisbury Festival and Surrey County Council, and organising cultural projects and events. I still like to do this sometimes.I live on the route of the Ridgeway national trail, and am inspired by its ancient landscape: wide open spaces of chalk downland, the colours and sounds revealed in the woods, and the rivers and tributaries found in its secluded valleys. I enjoy too many things to write a proper list but it would include walking, cycling, reading, singing, and writing.
