Imogen Mcmahon Email and Phone Number
Having spent 16 years in hospitality & over a decade of that in management, I realised my career progression had led me into roles I no longer enjoyed. I am a people person & suit job roles that allow me to use my natural skill set, push me to better my knowledge & empower me to strive to be the best. When I think back to my educational days, I am honestly inspired by the role models I looked up to, they not only displayed enthusiasm for their knowledge but also compassion and innovation, guiding me towards the way I would love to pursue my career in education, in the hope of being a truly refreshing and motivating lead in future generation’s educations. In my eyes teaching and support staff should not only provide information on a curriculum but also provide a safe & encouraging environment that allow the young people of today to become the strong, independent & exciting career holders of tomorrow.Being a teen mother myself & watching my eldest (autistic) start university this year has genuinely been a real motivator to want to progress my future calling in education.Although most of my qualifications are based on management roles and/or hospitality, with a few rouge courses on the side, I still continued to push through & eventually land myself a job within a SEN school. A role that came so naturally to me. Within a short period of time the school offered me lots of training & qualifications that not only work in that school, but gave me a base knowledge and skill sets that would be transferable to any other educational school setting. I was recognised quickly for my hard work & passion and became the lead for fine motor skills and sensory teaching. This is something I created in my own time & brought into the classes. I self taught the importance of other ways to teach to special young people, using materials & abstract ideas that stimulate and navigate their own learning in an immersive environment, where there are no wrong answers rather than the chance to question & explore an idea. I have since started social media pages displaying some of the designs and work schemes I brought into classes.I was never the smartest, coolest, most popular child at school & it took a long time for me to realise that, and that is also okay, something I would love to transmit to all future generations. They are enough. I would hope that my way of critical thinking, passion, creativity & management skills that allow me to lead, navigate & inspire people of all ages, are the correct foundations to be successful and have a positive input in any educational setting
