Imogen worked at Sainsbury’s stock checking and completing daily Finance and Loss reports. This was essential to the smooth running of the online sector of the business. Imogen was selected by the Regional Manager as an aspiring leader within the company and nominated to attend the Sainsbury’s Management Scheme. During this time, Imogen gained several leadership skills, this included how to manage a team with diverse needs and effective time management. By working full-time, she was able to demonstrate resilience and hard work towards a job she enjoyed which helped her to succeed. Imogen made the decision to go part-time in this role in September 2019 to persue her studies in Higher Education.

Imogen was initially employed at Superdrug as a seasonal temp whilst she was studying for her A Levels, after a few months her contract was made permanent. Imogen was promoted to the role of Fragrance Advisor whereby she attended conferences to represent her store and expand her knowledge within the subject area. Imogen was then promoted to team leader whereby she was responsible for opening and closing the store with the store manager, cash handling and reconciliation and refunds and exchanges. This was a brilliant opportunity for Imogen as she was given the opportunity to take on more responsibility within the store of which she thoroughly enjoyed.

Imogen studied for her Postgraduate Certificate in Education in Further Education and Training whilst working full time at the Sixth Form.
