Provide officers with graduate level Joint Professional Military Education (JPME - Level I) to produce skilled warfighting leaders able to overcome diverse 21st century security challenges. Develop critical thinkers, innovative problem solvers, and ethical leaders who will serve as commanders and staff officers in service, joint, interagency, and multinational organizations confronting complex and uncertain operational environments. In face-to-face seminars - and online - foster critical thinking and decision-making skills through a balance of directed readings and writings, historical case studies, small-group discussions, military planning exercises, written assessments, and shared practical exercises.

Lead graduate level Joint Maritime Operations seminars for U.S. Naval War College (NWC) Commissioned Officers students - 03 through 04 (and GS11 and up) - through a rigorous, degree producing course beyond the Newport, RI campus. As a NWC adjunct faculty (College of Distance Education), encourage students’ critical thinking skills through Socratic adult learning methods - both face-to-face and online - and relevant course materials for the program, which is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education and the Joint Staff for JPME Phase I requirements.
