Having joined the company to progress my career further, I have continually grown on my already present skillset, recently even having the opportunity to act up a rank whilst the current Branch Manager gained a promotion to a new store. I have gladly taken the opportunity to showcase what I can do as a BM, bringing in what I have learned over the years as Branch Manager in my previous role mixed with the Screwfix culture, I have been able to deliver a Screwfix Record week of sales and also been able to deliver a Trade+ Record week of sales. Whilst overseeing the store at its most crucial Peak trade period, I have been heavily invested in leading and inspiring the team to achieve their full potential, and that has shown through the great sales across this period. Whilst managing the store I have been in control of rotas, budgets and P&L, something which I have always enjoyed and taken a keen eye to. Having due diligence in the smaller finer details, I take pride in saying it has always allowed me to succeed in achieving my goals.I thoroughly enjoy leading by example, and I am proud to be part of a company that invests in its people, which has clearly shown, as I now look to cement my position as an official BM within the next year.

As a Store Manager of successful stores, my roles included and not limited to all aspects of the stores functionality. From the recruitment to the adhoc health and safety. I was given full autonomy to merchandise my Branch within the JD VM guidelines as I saw commericially viable taking into account the vast literature of business intelligence at my disposal. Recruitment was a key factor in keeping the colleagues motivated and excited, whilst continually developing junior ranks to be able to step in in my absence and also further their own careers. Overseeing the day to day functionality of the store, from the logistical delivery to controllable costs within the branch along with some of the examples given above allowed me to deliver an exceptional store consistently, having proven my ability to deliver, I widely got recognised as someone who had great understanding and was able to deliver results, which allowed me develop my own management skill and progress my career on a fast track within the company where it took me to a flagship store in a senior management role.
