Viva Insights and Viva Topics are both built on top of this platform offerings.M365 Offline Experimentation Platform: Led multi geo teams to solve onboarding, development agility, compute reliability, COGS, dataset discoverability, along with data governance challenges around offline experimentation that resulted in 15x growth in number of AI projects and helped democratize AI across M365.Customer M365 Reports: Led teams across Redmond and Suzhou that improved the onboarding time of new usage reports, GDPR support, redesigned data ingestion to scale over 4TB per day along with publishing REST API to Microsoft Graph as the serving store for the ecosystem consumption (Enterprise and ISV). The Azure CosmosDB team published a white paper on our implementation on how Microsoft 365 boosts usage analytics with Azure CosmosDB.

Calling a hard “refresh” on Microsoft Classroom product at an overly critical time and making a hard judgment call to rebuild Classroom and Assignment service at scale and launch within Microsoft Teams for Education across 180 countries. The app provides a single place for students and teachers for discussions, assignment and course material handouts and class events with a deep integration within Teams, OneNote, SharePoint, Calendar along with ability to get integrated with LMS systems via partner team School Directory Sync service. The product has over 50 million Monthly active users.

Led the Outlook Group identity and Group storage provisioning along with group provisioning, management and consolidated group file experiences within Outlook Web Access. I was involved in the architecture and design of this distributed system from inception which spanned across Microsoft Exchange, Sharepoint and AAD. Outlook groups revolutionized team collaboration within Outlook by creating a single place for people to collaborate along with connected experiences across the M365 suite including PowerBi, Planner, OneNote and others. My team also delivered a fluid and accessible UWP App for Outlook Group with 4.5+ app rating and was demoed at various occasions by Satya Nadella (Ignite 2015).The core group identity and data shard end up being the core backbone of all M365 Collaborative experiences and also powered Microsoft Teams, Yammer.We revamped mailboxes provisioning time from 30 mins to under 3 seconds, with instant access for all members. The team did a very complicated refactoring across all components of Exchange codebase including Frontend, middle tier, transport, storage, cmdlets to teach that a mailbox could be associated with Group identity in addition to a User Identity.

As the Calendar is shared in anonymous fashion I had to create a new throttling scheme as well as protect against DOS attack. I build support for both ICal and External users to view the target mailbox in OWA (Anonymous). As a Security Champ for my org, I helped teams in identifying security vulnerabilities during design reviews. I also identified and fixed XML bomb attack vulernability, where it could crash OWA by sending a hand crafting calendar sharing email to target. Client Protocol Feedback: Designed and Implemented a custom solution for MSFT Admins to take off a specific Exchange machine out of rotation and also smartly load balance if a specific Exchange front end role is under heavy usage

Extending Speech Command and Control experience to support Pinless login to voicemail. Improved call handling pipeline to fix integration with Lync Server. Generated Transcription Email for voicemails which rendered properly across desktop and mobile clients. Build a new Admin UX experience in the Exchange Control panel for provisioning and management of UM. I had to introduce new reusable constructs within the platform to support modal dialogs as well as cross windows communication.

Designed and Implemented Active Directory Notifications to enforce Active Sync Policies changes in just in time. Designed and implemented Get-ActiveSyncDevice and Get-ActiveSyncDeviceStatistics cmdlets. Improved unhandled exception scheme to address EAS service availability.
