Providing 2nd & 3rd line desktop, application & server support to handle promptly all requests for assistance from approximately 20,000 users and diagnose effectively underlying causes of the requests. This required expertise at desktop and server level. Also devising solutions or workarounds to ensure that the effect on operations is minimised. For all requests that could not be directly resolved, provide an effective interface and manage the issue to resolution.Below is a brief outline of duties :• Rollout of projects while under pressure to deliver within project timescales.• Deal with infrastructure issues promptly involving liaison with 3rd party organisations and timely resolution of all hardware issues to include desktop, server & networking environments.• Exposure, development, configuration and administration of Windows servers including Active Directory and DHCP• Investigation in to complex problems to diagnose underlying causes and help users to recover / continue operation while providing detailed advice and guidance to all aid future issues.• Daily monitoring of all Server portfolios on the estates covered to maintain business continuity, which also incorporates storage & network planning including EVA / SAN Enclosures.• Network (WAN, LAN and WLAN) support including switching and routing
