Project: Central Processing Center – Income TaxThe objective of this program was to develop & implement a comprehensive system to increase efficiency, and effectiveness of ITD in processing, accounting and reconciliation of the Tax returns filed. This is one of the largest end to end implementation program executed by Infosys and follows a Build- Operate - Transfer (BOT) model.Work description/ Responsibilities: • Setting up dev, test, PT and Productions databases. Production databases were oracle 10g 2-node RAC on Red Hat Linux 5.• Configuring and administration of ASM storage for all prod databases.• Upgrading and applying patches on RAC databases.• Defining and implementing high availability architecture strategy ( Single node Physical standby on ASM for RAC systems)• Deploying monitoring scripts for physical standby databases and resolving archive log gaps using RMAN incremental backups.• Installing and configuring Oracle grid control server and deploying OEM agents on prod servers in order to enable centralized monitoring and administration of all production servers.• Defining and implementing backup strategy for all the databases and performing mock recovery tests to validate backups.• Performing point in time and incomplete recovery in case of media failures.• Regular prod to non-prod database refresh activities.• Capturing slow running programs and resolving the performance loopholes. • Creating shell scripts to monitor database health and raise alerts in case of issues and report failed jobs.• Creating materialized views and refresh groups to refresh data from external systems.• Using SQL Loader to load data from huge csv files into database.• Implementing table and index level partitioning and enabling compression on static partitions. • Perform application roll-out/deployment related changes on production/test databases
