Isaiah S. Email and Phone Number
I am a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher in the department of Civil, Architectural & Environmental Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin, with a current focus on understanding and improving microbiological water quality in engineered water systems. My research interests include understanding and identifying: (1) the driving operational and environmental factors that influence aquatic microbiome assembly, presence, and pathogenicity in the built environment(2) the formation, function, and ramification of biofilms in urban drinking water systems(3) the recruitment, assembly, and function of microbiomes in sustainable agriculture applications deployed in urban built environmentsAlongside my passion for the different facets of water and water quality, I also have a huge passions for teaching and, inclusion, diversity, equity, and access efforts in academic settings. I one day hope to be able to use my degrees and my platforms to teach, encourage, and empower the upcoming generations with the tools to creatively solve complex engineering challenges that lie ahead.
