I managed the northeast regional environmental and quality programs at Essity Professional Hygiene. Both programs benefited from systems management. I successfully implemented an ISO 14001 and a Safe Quality Food (SQF) program at our New York facilities, based upon risk assessments and maintained through an audit cycle. I was responsible for program elements that range from accurate emission discharge reports for air, water and waste, to maintaining quality data metrics. I used data to drive sustainable performance improvement for both environmental and quality programs subject to internal and external audits and inspections. I established the respect of our regulatory personnel, GFSI inspectors, sales personnel, corporate resource teams and our operators. Our common ground was that each of us cares about the products we manufacture and the resources we need to sustain. I also was responsible for investigating environmental program upsets and customer complaints, developing corrective actions and preventing reoccurrences.

As Senior Environmental Specialist at SI Group, I collaborated in waste, air, water, bulk storage, training and safety program management. I leveraged technical knowledge from a McCoy RCRA training seminar to validate SI Group's waste management compliance. Regarding the air program, I provided inventory data and applicability determinations for many of the air reports submitted to the USEPA and NYSDEC. Speaking of reports, I worked with SI's contract laboratory to streamline NetDMR reporting to ensure accurate report preparation and improve my efficiency. I integrated the environmental and quality ISO auditing process and minimized duplicative efforts for all stakeholders. I routinely participated in MOC meetings, reviewed bulk storage regulations, and evaluated opportunities to prevent spills. I always watched for opportunities to support SI's environmental compliance program at the plant.

As a senior EHS leader, I was responsible, in part, for regulatory compliance, auditing, release reporting, project management, and training. As an embedded project manager at Momentive Performance Materials, I was responsible for organizing Momentive's response to NYSDEC’s comments on their RCRA permit application. This operating permit defines Momentive’s waste management, air emissions, and waste water management. My role included managing numerous sub projects, maintaining multiple project schedules, and tracking the budget impacts of permit conditions.I provided technical support to Momentive’s team of environmental professionals, cataloging all regulatory references and correspondence with the NYSDEC. I facilitated project progress by identifying critical assignments and ensuring their completion, independent of plant operations. I continually modified my schedule to adapt to the dynamic work environment.I was so effective in this role that Momentive offered to hire me as their Senior EHS Compliance Leader. Having enjoyed the working environment, and perceiving the opportunities presented by working directly for Momentive, I agreed to take on the challenge.
