Working in the "Technical Projects" department, basically working with getting new IT solutions to our customers and refining and optimising current solutions.My main responsibility is the continual development of our digital workplace. With JN Data and Atea as providers of respectively network and infrastructure, I integrate BECs software and workplace needs into one common solution. This also means deciding what new technology we might use and how best to achieve our customers goals.One of the beauties and challenges of my job is to take 30 different banks with different needs and provide an experience that makes each of them feel like it's THEIR personal digital workplace, while in reality it's an adaptable platform that can be easily maintained at the core while still providing custom features. I help Operation when an incident can't be solved by first or second level support - this also helps me better our solutions, instead of sitting in an ivory tower and "just" be the Architect. I'm lucky enough to be surrounded by very talented people that I can bounce ideas off of - this ultimately leads to a better, more robust and cleaner solution to each technical problem.I do a lot of work in RES ONE Workspace, I redesigned it with the release of version 2015 and cut our login times in half while also creating a much richer and configurable user experience. When you design and work on providing a digital workspace it's important to always remember that you provide the fundamentals for the rest of the business. While a desktop might not be the core product that you sell/provide, it's the foundation on which everything else is provided. Uptime and stability effects all parts of the business so it's a very challenging and rewarding task when you have to do major upgrades or even just trying to uncover the ripple effect any one change will have, knowing that users use the system differently.
