As a physiotherapist, I have regularly updated my clinical skills and gained extensive experience in treating a wide range of conditions, while reflecting my commitment towards patient-centred care. My effective communication skills have allowed me to build strong relationships with patients and collaborate seamlessly within multidisciplinary teams, enhancing teamwork and patient care. My KSBs align with the requirements of Band 5 Clinical Practice, Facilitation of Learning, Leadership and Research Pillar put in place by the NES NMAHP framework. I am an “Experienced Graduate” and I am equipped to handle complex cases in unpredictable contexts, confident in demonstrating personal autonomy by owning my decisions and following ethics. I have influenced and supervised my juniors and peers successfully during my previous work. In terms of research, I have a publication in the Journal of Back and Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation and I recently completed a review as my dissertation in the MSc Programme. Over time, I have dedicated myself to improving along the four pillars of NES NMAHP.One particular area of strength is my cultural competence, which has enabled me to provide sensitive and inclusive care to diverse patient populations. I have a history of adapting my approach to meet the unique needs of patients from different backgrounds. My commendable communication skills have regularly been acknowledged by my patients, line manager and colleagues. I am a natural Empath which is an important prerequisite in establishing effective communication with patients and their families. Also, I execute evidence-based practice and educate my patients to gain informed consent before implementing a treatment regimen. This leads to the active involvement of the patient in their care and therefore enables them to utilise available resources and augment the quality of care. Besides, I am also a very good team player and I understand how to work in collaboration with other AHPs. Moreover, I keep myself updated by continuously developing professional skills by attending workshops. Being passionately curious has always contributed to my continuous learning, and I have received numerous compliments from my instructors on my curious nature, often during classes. This characteristic can be attributed to my critical thinking, which makes me a sceptic rather than a believer. I also exhibit some of the essential components of leadership such as Effective Communication, leading by example, recognizing the achievements of other team members, and recommending solutions.
