Financial Controller
Current• Effectively assume sole responsibility for maintaining accurate both company accounts, bookkeeping, and month end financial reporting • Prepare and confirm compliance of financial statements and consolidation of reports with Canadian GAAP• Exceptional customer service skills coordinating with contacts, clients, and contractors to refine financial reporting, and describing organizational accounting processes • Skillfully present dynamic financial data pack to management on a regular basis to ensure reporting is comprehensive and easily understood (graphic elements and charts)• Accurately manage inventory issues and reduce discrepancies (physical counts, write-down/offs, monthly analytics and reconciliation)• Represent the organization as lead audit contact and support management through the external audit process• Lead government compliance/reporting and spearhead month-end reporting and account reconciliations managing inconsistencies and problem-solving as needed• Analyze and identify key trends for sales representatives and highlight opportunities for growth• Review data; perform calculations & post prepayment, accruals and standing journals in order to prepare monthly books• Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable• Coding and processing invoices and employee expense reports • Maintaining supplier and customer invoice files• Preparing invoices, applying cash receipts, verifying customer account status • Managing banking, inventory, stock supplies and reconciling bank and credit card statements• Collecting aged accounts receivable and monitored payment trends• Research account transactions, demonstrating a keen ability to recognize and resolve discrepancies
