Protegrity has data security product with proprietary format preserving tokenization. It is used by a lot of banks, retailers, insurance companies across globe to protect their sensitive and private data at rest. As part of Professional Services team, I helped a lot of our US and Canada customers with installation of our products across multiple platforms like RDBMS, Big data platforms, Cloud and serverless platforms, Kubernetes clusters. My work also involved custom development, for example – Python script to automate creation of policies by calling REST API, PySpark program to process hundreds of different files using configurable rules for EMR, Shell scripting, wrapper functions for Hive/Spark in Scala and Java. I gathered a lot of technical skills including network troubleshooting using tcpdump and several other commands, AWS cloud platform (EMR, Serverless lambda, Elastic Kubernetes Service, IAM policies, Athena, Redshift), workings of several technologies like Splunk, OpenSearch, fluent-bit/fluentd for logging architecture etc.

• Designed UI and backend programs for Self Service data movement from any database platform to another including MPP databases and Hadoop. It would help data analysts and scientists to save time when they need to move data. I also created Excel spread sheet based data mining tool for business users of Hadoop data using VBA programming that is being used for last 3 years. It provides data dictionary (column descriptions for 1500 table columns), quick table search based on business keywords and automatic Hive SQL generation based on selected columns and filters. Inderjeet managed the offshore team in a L2 support program for the pharmacy application. He created the knowledge repository for relatively new business domain. He also set up various processes to improve the support efficiency, knowledge transition & training, and the quality of application support. Inderjeet conducted an assessment of Retek suite of applications at a US book retailer. The business users were demanding a lot of additional custom functionalities that don't come with the base product. The client's IT team were finding it difficult to address these needs and meet the business expectations.Inderjeet proposed the solution approaches for the burning issues at the end of the assessment. He helped resolving all performance bottlenecks and performed long pending major customizations to suit their business needs.Buyer screen design enhancements to provide ability to allocate from existing order, viewing store allocations, store need calculation using past sales history, view comparative sales information, and complete revamp of screen layout to put right information in the right spots. He designed performance enhancements to the application and batch performance. More than 15 nightly batch programs improved more than 70% and the response time for 10 application screens improved by 75%. These deliveries had delighted business users and brought back their trust in Oracle Retail package.Even though the engagement was to take over support, but we developed a lot of long pending enhancements requested by the business users. Our work had been reflected in appreciation from the business analyst: [[Far exceeded my expectations. I was expecting the Infosys team to take a support role at best, but they delivered some incredible functionality. Two examples: the materialized view solution to get real time data for the Buyer Item Review screen and the use of the form attribute that allowed users to continue their work while the system was gathering sales date information. Besides the stuff we were specifically asking for, Inder also did some layout improvements to the form that made it much better for the users.]]

Inderjeet worked on various Retek (now Oracle Retail) implementation projects for US retailers. I had managed small teams and mentored them. Other tasks which brought a lot of value add for customers are batch job performance improvement and query tuning, proposed innovative solutions and ideas for better user productivity.Retailing domain expert with very sound functional understanding of Items & Pricing, Inventory, Ordering, Receipts, Transfers/ Allocations, Stock Ledger and Sales. He trained team members from across teams and locations.He has worked for addressing various business objectives like perpetual inventory, pricing, creating PO/inventory interfaces between stores and warehouses. He has also worked on a lot of performance initiatives to enhance performance of critical path programs running in the nightly batch programs to use minimum hardware resources.He has been a key player in enhancing performance of Allocation custom screens (J2EE based) which were frequently used by client. This activity was critical for peak season preparedness and performance improvement attracted a lot of client appreciation.Instrumental in rolling out different functionality and screens after customization. Inderjeet worked as a testing lead for a QA project at offshore for RMS (now Oracle Retail). The package was being rolled out for their multi-channel retailing, like brick-and-mortar stores, direct-to-customer, and catalogue mail order. This was one of the first testing projects being executed and there was no standard process or documentationHe has been responsible for creating standard testing procedures, test cases templates to record testing results and designing test cycles to avoid duplicate testing with minimum data setup. Some of these best practices are still being used by the business unit.To speed up the fixing of defects by another vendor, he had proactively suggested the code fixes to the client. This was appreciated by client and created a positive effect

Maintenance and enhancement for the warehouse management system (WMS) for a large apparel retailer. This was used for ordering SKU's, managing and planning the shipping yards, automated receiving orders, picking and sorting for store allocations optimized to get the minimum trip distance for the warehouse operatorDeveloper for perpetual inventory initiative for a US fashion retailer that included coding the batch interfaces between Manhattan PkMS and RMS for real time inventory updates and syncing both systems so that business users have the right information. Various new interfaces like Transfer Acknowledgement, Advance Shipment Notification, Outbound/ inbound transfer requests were designed to provide capability to business to get on-hand, reserved, in-transit and on-order inventoriesDesigned and implemented the sales extract programs using high-speed file processing utility `SyncSort'.
