Holloway Secondary is a mixed comprehensive situated in North London. It is a inner city London school which has dramatically changed over the years. Within its last OFSTED inspection it was graded as a good school. Students who attend the school vary within ethnicity, gender and also levels of ability, and with this comes many challenges to engage young people into education. I have been working in this school for 9 years and I have developed a number of strategies which can help to manage behaviour and to engage students into their learning. In working as P.E teacher and also a form tutor I have established myself within school as a strong and reliable member of staff and I have successfully lead 2 sets of form groups up until their G.C.S.E`s. I feel that working within an environment that has seen many changes, towards raising the standards of behaviour and also teaching and learning it has demonstrated how a strong pastoral system and determination can aid to change the lives of so many affected young people.

My role as community coach was to deliver coaching sessions within the primary schools after school and also within the school holidays. In working as a football coach it required a lot of planning and preparation as well as being resourceful enough to adapt plans depending on the groups size, weather conditions and ability of the group.

My role as fitness advisor was to prescribe exercise to the new members who joined the gym. As part of the the exercise prescription would be to medically health screen them for any indications of health issues. The exercise programmes would need to be tailored to individual needs and therefore it required very specific training methods.
