"A giant of InDesign automation"(Anubhav Rohatgi, Adobe InDesign Product Manager, Adobe MAX 2018 Conference, https://2018.max.adobe.com/sessions/max-online/#24764) During the last few years, concurrently with, and as a natural outgrowth of, my book design and typesetting activities, I have become increasingly involved in creating automation solutions, usually in the form of more or less complicated scripts, mainly for Adobe InDesign, but also for other components of Adobe's Creative Cloud (formerly, Creative Suite), particular Acrobat and Illustrator.This led, in 2012, to the creation of a website – www.Id-Extras.com – dedicated to InDesign automation solutions (scripts and add-ons). At Id-Extras.com a library of popular InDesign scripts are available and have been sold to thousands of customers worldwide. The website also showcases my InDesign automation expertise, and plays to an under-serviced market for publishing automation solutions.Customers include major international publishing houses and media companies (HarperCollins, PenguinRandomHouse, The New York Times, Prudential Insurance and more), governmental agencies (Statistics Canada, USGS, the House of Lords, UK, and more), or their employees, as well as individual graphic agencies and graphic professionals worldwide.Concurrently to this InDesign scripting specialization, since 2010 I have been senior typesetter at Urim Publications, which involves designing and typesetting dozens of new titles a year.My book design work is featured on www.FreeelanceBookDesign.com.Previously, as head of the graphics department at Lambda, I became familiar with international textbook publishing. Lambda's clients included Bordas in France, Westermann in Germany and Northpoint Horizons in the US — all major publishers.
