About Indi Mccasey

INDI MCCASEY (pronouns: they/them) believes in the power of community-based arts and creative youth development to transform education. Indi is an educational consultant, non-profit program administrator, teaching artist, and event producer with over 25 years of experience in experiential and informal learning environments and 20 years of non-profit program administrative experience. They received a Masters in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and currently serve as a faculty member of the Alameda County Office of Education's Integrated Learning Specialist Program and Harvard's Project Zero Classroom. Indi founded two nationally performing physical theater ensembles in addition to being an artistic member of Wise Fool New Mexico, an award-winning, social justice circus and theater company. As the Managing Director and Co-Founder of Topsy-Turvy Queer Circus, they co-produce an annual multi-disciplinary, circus-infused production that highlights the brilliance of queer and trans artists of color as part of the National Queer Arts Festival in San Francisco. Since Topsy-Turvy Queer Circus' founding in 2012, Indi has stewarded the organization as it quadrupled its annual budget and doubled its audience to 1,000 people annually. Indi was a 2014 Project Zero Artist in Residence as well as a former recipient of the Endeavor Foundation for the Arts award.
