Originally hired through the WINGS program at St. Mary's University as a reading tutor for preschool age children. My position then grew to include various other tasks outside the classroom such as assisting in event planning and community outreach.

I assisted my research advisor with her focus group research for a major company in San Antonio. I entered and coded the data that was retrieved from these focus groups in order to provide a full written assessment of the population demographic to the company.

I worked alongside Mayor Castro's staff, St. Mary's University staff, and registered student organizations of St. Mary's University to advocate for the Pre-K 4 SA initiative. I assisted in coordinating a community debate on the proposed legislation at St. Mary's campus to inform the community on the issue. The measure was passed in November 2012 and continues to thrive today.
