Anshuman is currently practicing with Kochhar & Co.’s Intellectual Property Practice (IPR) and is based in the Firm’s Gurgaon office. His practice focuses on a range of contentious & non-contentious intellectual property (IP) matters in the areas of trademark, copyright, domain names and Internet. Anshuman routinely counsels clients on IP matters, including IP portfolio management, trademark search and clearance opinions, registration, enforcement, domain name matters, drafting and negotiating settlement and coexistence agreements, IP licenses, IP assignments, and all aspects of brand protection. He also assists clients with the intellectual property aspects of corporate transactions, including strategic alliances, joint ventures and mergers & acquisitions.Anshuman has extensive experience in assisting clients in industries including consumer electronics, food, automobiles, telecommunications, entertainment, FMCG, pharmaceuticals, publication, hospitality, apparel, airlines, mining, defense, chemical, e-commerce, and real estate, in acquisition, enforcement, and protection of their IP. Anshuman extensively appears before High Courts and District Courts (for infringement and passing off matters) and various Tribunals such as Trademark Tribunal (for oppositions, cancellations, and review matters) and NCLT/NCLAT and Regional Director-MCA (for company name related dispute matters). His litigation experience includes cases in the areas of trademark, trade dress, unfair competition, and copyright. In addition, Anshuman counsels clients on domain name disputes. He has significant experience handling domain name proceedings under Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) and other similar proceedings before a host of different arbitration forums such as National Internet eXchange of India (NIXI).
