From my early teens I have been concerned with social and global injustice. I have always wanted to use my voice to help others who may not be able to use theirs. When the choice came to pick a university course, I knew I wanted to pick a broad subject that would give me an awareness of the world and a critical outlook. Having graduated with an upper second class honours in BA Communication & Society and Global Studies from Nottingham Trent University, I continued my studies to earn an MA in Gender, Sexuality and Culture at the University of Manchester. Both my undergraduate and postgraduate degrees offer a fulfilling and eye opening viewpoint. I try my best to be as involved as possible - for example, I helped to set up the Global Studies Society and fulfilled the role of President for one year. This has given me more enriched people skills as I have learnt how to delegate well as well as a knowledge on how to lead effectively. Having had some experience working with not-for-profit organisations, such as Once a Month, I am keen to work in the charity sector - or in a diversity and wellbeing role outside of the third sector.
