India Wright is a doctoral candidate at the University of Cambridge. Her research, funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council and Isaac Newton Trust, examines the architecture of the Inns of Court and Chancery during the seventeenth century. She completed the MSt in Building History at Cambridge in 2021, her dissertation on the Redevelopment of Middle Temple in the late seventeenth century being awarded the Institute of Historic Building Conservation’s Gus Astley Award. India is a Trustee of the Construction History Society and Editor of the London Topographical Society newsletter.

  Undertaking a three-month placement co-organised by Historic Royal Palaces, the OOC DTP (AHRC) and Oxford University Heritage Partnerships, examining manuscripts compiled by the Surveyor of the King’s Works, James Nedeham, relating to building works at the Tower of London, Greenwich and Whitehall Palace and other English royal palaces during the years 1532-44. Charting a period when Henry VIII was investing vast sums into art and architecture.
