Our MissionStudent Life N-siders address the needs of all students by serving as liaisons to student organizations, assist in the development and implantation of specific divisional projects and initiatives and create a sense connectedness at NSU for all students. The N-siders provide an invaluable link to potential NSU students and continuing students as representatives of the Department of Student Life. A swing is a performer whose job is to play one or more roles (In this show I had to learn 9 different roles) in the acting ensemble of a show—usually a musical—when someone else is out. These dedicated professionals learn literally dozens of different parts or “tracks” (a series of characters played by a single chorus member in successive scenes). They stand ready at each performance to step in for whoever is unable to go on, whether due to illness or vacation, or for any other reason.

As a Hotel Front Desk Agent my responsibilities included but were not limited to registering guests, managing reservations and providing information about rooms, rates and amenities. I am also trained to coordinate the morning breakfast and the Night Audit. While in this position I often displayed my a knack for customer service and loved my work experience in the hotel industry.

As STEM (Science Technology, Engineering Mathematics) camp director my job involved administrative duties and supervisory responsibility for staff and campers. I also ultimately oversaw and formulated curriculum and maintained responsibility for all camp activities and camp participants.

Provides overall 4-H club leadership. Also coordinates members, parents and involves other leaders. The 4-H club coordinator communicates with other volunteers, parish 4-H staff member(s), club members and 4-H’ers’ parents and families to maintain smooth operation of the club. Support youth, volunteers and county 4-H staff members in conducting meaningful, educational experiences to help youth grow and reach their fullest potential. 4-H Club Leaders can be an individual, a team or a group of people that have specific roles that fulfill the 4-H Club Leader responsibilities. Team members can be a youth-adult partnership.

This job entails writing scripts, either individually or with a team. Once the script is written, vloggers set up computer equipment, lights and any other equipment needed to film and produce videos. Unless someone is streaming content live, a long process of editing can occur after each film segment is made and may involve reshoots.

Central Camp Counselors serve as role models for campers by demonstrating respect and discipline, and by living by the established camp policies. Duties include: live with 10 - 11 campers, eat with your assigned cabin, supervise clean-up details, plan recreational and social activities, launder the campers' uniform clothes every other day, work 15 - 20 hours a week at a specific work assignment (including performing and artistic assignments), and consistently evaluate and act on all campers' special needs, problems, and concerns. Camp Counselors are role models, leaders, supervisors, problem solvers, motivators, friends, and guardians for Blue Lake campers.Central Camp Counselors/Lifeguards have the same responsibilities as central camp counselors, except that their work assignment is that of a Lifeguard. These counselors also have opportunities to perform with various camp music ensembles or complete other job assignments. Blue Lake will certify candidates with Red Cross certifications prior to staff orientation.
