As a passionate and experienced service provider within the disabilities sector, I have undertaken several career and volunteer opportunities with Geneva Center for Autism, Community Living Toronto, Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital and Best Buddies Canada. Working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities in a 1:1, 2:1, 1:2, 1:3 and in group settings allow me to implement activities that contribute to their independent growth and for successful community inclusion. Visual aids and tools frequently used to assist in programming include PECs, Social Stories, Visual Schedules, First Then boards, Token boards, Reinforcements, Choice boards, ABC Charts and Timers. Training in ABA, CPI, CPR-C, First Aid, and Medication and G-Tube administration, allows me to better support the children in my care. The Child and Youth Care program at Ryerson University, allows me to utilize my knowledge in implementing client-centered therapeutic activities that are safe, inclusive and affirming. I am looking to secure a position with an organization that serves diverse needs, so I could implement my skills and expertise for the continued growth of the company.
