Dr. Bardhan is a strategic executive & business leader with 25+ years of experience in Prime Services and broader Equities, driving commercial outcomes at 3 major institutions. Over his career, he has managed risk and trading, built/restructured businesses through strategic shifts, and helped banks through the financial crisis. He has deep expertise in all aspects of prime brokerage, clearing and Delta 1, a broad client network among hedge funds, and industry-leading expertise in bank funding and capital considerations.As Global Head of Prime Services at Credit Suisse, Indrajit directed a top-tier Prime Services offering, partnering with most of top-100 hedge funds. In addition to overseeing prime brokerage, equity swaps, ETFs and exchanging-traded derivatives, he coordinated liquidity and funding for the Equities division. Indrajit directly led risk, trading and commercial decisions, ensuring that the right business and trading risks were being borne/adequately compensated. He also led a complete restructuring of Prime Services, reducing balance-sheet and regulatory capital usage significantly.Before, as Global COO for Global Markets Financing & Services at Merrill Lynch, Indrajit supported the prime business; led risk-management of the client & trading books and managed strategic objectives for the business. He also developed the funding effort for Equities, that was crucial in preserving liquidity during the 2007–2008 financial crisis.Previously, Indrajit spent 13 years at Goldman Sachs, in a variety of trading roles across Equities, including convertibles, swaps and stock-loan. Indrajit has a Ph.D. and M.S. in Operations Research from Columbia University's School of Engineering & Applied Sciences, and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Mumbai, India.
