Leading Jeevika Technical Support Program (JTSP), a large multi-faceted and multi-sectoral initiative of Project Concern International (PCI) with the support of Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) for layering health and nutrition in JEEViKA (the State Rural Livelihoods Mission - SRLM in Bihar) with an overall goal of bringing lasting impact in reducing maternal, neonatal and infant mortality, fertility rates and malnutrition.As CoP, I'm leading the Technical Support Program by providing strategic, technical and operational leadership; designing strategies; building vision and maintaining motivation and engagement of the team; developing and managing relationship with the Govt. and the donor; managing different verticals of the program (technical, system strengthening, innovation, MLE, and support functions) consisting of more than 250 staff; led and managed changes in terms of restructuring and realignment necessary in a complex multi-stakeholder environment; built team values and organizational culture needed for achieving results.Key achievements in this position include organizational change management; building effective relationship with Govt and World Bank; developing measurement-driven strategic programming in JTSP; developing a very effective models for Health and Nutrition (HN) program in JEEViKA – which is showing large significant change in key HN outcomes including really sticky indicators like dietary diversity; and, working out successful strategies for scale-up and dissemination. The HN program in JEEViKA is being considered as the one of the most effective scale model for HN in Rural Livelihoods Mission, and, in the beginning of 2018 different states (including Orissa and UP) visited Bihar to see the model, and, the National Rural Livelihoods Mission and also different SRLMs are showing interest to replicate this in other states of India. UP SRLM is also taking technical support from PCI for designing and rolling out HN in UP.

Established and led Concurrent Monitoring and Learning (CML) Unit of Bihar Technical Support Program (BTSP) BTSP consists of a few large multi-sectoral projects for improving health and nutrition status of Bihar by supporting Govt. through Department of Health and ICDS. As a senior member of the leadership team, the role involves conceptualization and contributing in ideation of many different facets of these interventions. As Director MLE, the role involves designing, establishing and managing Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning of the project including technical research and assessments of various high-impact solutions and innovations using different rigorous testing methodologies including RCTs.The major achievement in this role is conceptualizing and establishing an ambitious measurement effort by an overall investment commitment of around $20 million supported by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) – which is one of the biggest such effort globally – by establishing and leading a team of more than 400 people aimed at continuous measurement of outcome and outputs to assess implementation effectiveness and adequacy of strategy through data driven decision making and thus provide overall strategic guidance to the program. Other achievements include: managing very high level of motivation in the 400 member team by creating a mechanism of continuous mentoring, ensuring vision-level connect, and, drawing clear path for career progression; established many innovative measurement techniques including LQAS-based real-time data driven management system; managing image and positioning of CML, and overall BTSP, by successfully handling external relationships; played key strategic role in overall management of BTSP resulting into many global recognition and huge expansion of BTSP; overall investment and scope of internal MLE led by CARE increased by many folds from 2011 to 2015, and, CARE is positioned and recognized for its strong measurement capabilities.

Developing, strategizing, guiding, management, monitoring and evaluation of programme of the organization in 14 countries in Asia; Overall responsibility of the programme quality in the continent; Providing strategic input to projects for ensuring maximum impact of the project with optimum input towards achieving vision of the organization; Special responsibility of handholding support to Laos, Cambodia, Philippines and Thailand; Also, taking part in continental management decisions as a member of Continental Management Team.

Providing strategic input and advice to the overall regional programme of South Asia, monitoring and providing capacity input to various projects, guiding programme planning and development, conducting and managing research studies, reviewing overall impact of SC Finland in the region. For a few key projects: designing, planning, building strategies for implementation and providing direct management support occasionally as per requirement. Key Achievements:· Headed and managed EC-funded Indigenous Child Rights project in South Rajasthan and built a large people-lead campaign around equal opportunity in childhood· Conceptualized and building an innovative programme on the concept of Child Sensitive Social Protection in the region, specifically in India and Bangladesh. · Providing strategic and capacity support to various programmes on child protection, education, child rights programming in WASH, child rights governance · Managed various research studies – quantitative and qualitative – importance of opportunity in childhood in breaking chronic cycle of poverty; Study on educational opportunity for marginalized children; study on chronic poverty and vulnerability of children; impact of various social protection mechanisms on children’s lives; study on child abuse and neglect; approaching WASH with child rights programming perspective

As a consultant undertook various assignments which included conducting research studies and facilitating trainings. Some important assignments are:· Qualitative Research on “Perception of Children on Parenting Practices” in five countries of South Asia (principal researcher)· Usability and Impact Assessment for Communication materials produced by SC Sweden· A Secondary research on “Child Rights and HIV/AIDS” in South Asia (Bangladesh portion).· Trainings (ToTs) on “Child Protection: Concept, Tools & Techniques” and “Community Mobilization for CRP” (lead facilitator) for Save the Children in Sri Lanka (SCiSL) staff.

Some Important Assignments:- CARE India: · Long Range Strategic Planning (LRSP) for 2007 – 2012: Facilitating CARE India to design strategic Programme Focus Areas (PFAs) for next five-year operation in the country.- UNICEF, India - MP & CG: · Preparation of model plan for district response: integrating community plans at village level with Government departmental plans.- Indo-Global Social Service Society – Save the Children Finland Project (EC Funded)· Policy analysis: Analysing Policies, Programmes, Provisions etc. of GoI Indigenous Child Rights. · Trainings on Advocacy and Child Rights based approach to campaign- Save the Children Finland:· For providing technical and management support to the EU-supported project on Indigenous Child Rights and Training on Child Rights and CRP for project staff and partners. - Save the Children UK (India Country Office), New Delhi· Programme formulation and development of a generic proposal for national level Education Program (child-led minimum standard in education) and development of proposal on Education in J&K for SCUK for submission to EC· Evaluating strategic shift in programme approach in DIPECHO projects in Rajasthan - DFID (MP Rural Livelihoods Project - GoMP):· Preparation of SHG Operational Manual for the state of Madhya Pradesh in light of the new SHG Strengthening Policy of GoMP (principal consultant – 50%, as a part of a team).

Designing, Planning and Management of the overall program in Rajasthan - Strategic planning, Programme development, Building & managing partnerships, Guiding, directing and managing Rajasthan team, Capacity building of staff and partners, Monitoring and evaluation of projects, Proposal building, Research (designing & coordinating), Financial Management (budget, projection, Fund flow management), Formulation of and administering MIS, monitoring, reporting and control system, financial control systems, Providing programmatic guidance to implementing partners and project teams, Liasing with the Government and other stakeholders, Representing the organization in the state of Rajasthan in different forums. Key Achievements:· Initiated and built up programme of SC Finland in Rajasthan along with the country management team, starting from recruitment of staff, responsibility distribution, training and capacity building, creation of monitoring, reporting and financial control system. Took instrumental role in expanding the Rajasthan program from two to six projects, geographically from one to four districts and several new initiatives.· Developed MIS for SCF operations and the first five-year Country Strategy Paper for Save the Children Finland in India with the Country Program Manager. Initiated efforts towards formation of Rajasthan Child Rights Network. Planning of the programme and development of proposal on indigenous child rights. The proposal received EC funding from EIDHR head and programme started. · Formulated and implemented an innovative tool – “Discovery of Dreams” with children.

· Coordinating and providing strategic, programmatic and management inputs to different projects on Livelihoods, Women Empowerment, Education etc. supported by different funding agencies by leading a team of professionals, monitoring projects, conducting research / action research and bringing several new projects through writing proposals.· Major achievement in Vishakha was increasing projects and expanding the organization through raising fund, liasing, developing concept notes and writing project proposals. The organization started several new projects and the amount of funding received by the organization increased to almost ten times by the end of the year.

· Initiating and grounding the goatery program as a viable livelihood option for SHGs by introduction of artificial insemination of goats and production of goat specific fodder. · Formulated accountant grading system and SHG training need assessment framework, which were also followed in other PRADAN locations. Prepared modules for capacity building of SHGs (conflict resolution, credit appraisal etc).· Used DFID Sustainable Livelihoods Framework for analysing livelihoods situation and identification of new livelihoods option.
