Hello! As a textile and polymer chemist with six years of diverse research experience, I am excited to connect with other professionals in the industry on LinkedIn. I have a strong background in emulsion polymerization, multifunctional textiles, polyurethane chemistry, and sustainable polyols, among other areas.Currently, I am working as a Senior Scientist in the Synthesis Division of Research and Development at Pidilite Industries Ltd. In this role, I design PU-acrylic hybrid emulsions for durable and soft-feel binders. I also develop water, oil, and stain repellent fluoro-acrylic emulsions. My work involves a mix of R&D and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure our products meet customer needs.Before this role, I spent 4.5 years as a PhD student at IIT Delhi. I developed a biobased functional polyol for making polyurethane (PU) and designed a waterproof breathable, antibacterial, and waterborne PU coating for textiles. Successfully developed the first-of-its-kind functional PU with durable and inherent mosquito-repellent properties for coating. I have hands-on experience using various characterization techniques and functional properties valuation methods.During my time at IIT Delhi, I also served as a Teaching Assistant for a textile testing laboratory practical course. I supervised one M.Tech and two B.Tech major projects that resulted in research publications. As an extra curriculum activity, I served as a Research Scholar Representative in the IIT Delhi Student Senate, where we resolved many issues related to policies for research scholars.Before pursuing my Mtech, I worked as an Engg. trainee in the Dyeing Department at Raymonds, where I developed strategies to increase production by organizing procedures based on a correlation study.Throughout my career, I have received several awards and fellowships for my work. These include the Council Of Scientific and Industrial Research travel grant award in 2019 for the international conference held in Hong Kong for oral presentation, the MHRD PhD fellowship for my PhD course, the UGC fellowship for my Master's education, and qualifying for the Textile Engineering and Fibre Science GATE examination with 150 all India rank and Polymer Science and Engineering GATE examination with 336 all India rank.Overall, I am excited to continue to contribute to the chemical industry.
