About Paul Day

Hi, Paul Day here, I'm the chief Factory Analyst and Project Designer at Bullant Creative. One key insight that I repeat frequently to our clients is that the process industry (food & beverage, sheet goods, solid & fluid packaging operations) differs from the parts manufacturing and assembly industry, where the Lean, Six Sigma and Theory of Constraints methodologies were developed. That is where we come in, we create FAST factories for the PROCESS INDUSTRY! 🚀What's in it for YOU and YOUR existing and future factories?1. You remove complex technical roadblocks and increase your return on assets in a measurable way.2. You get an elegant performance buffer between you and your customers.3. You get new ideas and ways of working, for you and your team, that go beyond the well worn, 40-year-old performance technologies. To achieve this we apply Factory Analytics 🔍 techniques that produce high-value business insights for the process industry. We then use these insights to provide Project Design 🎨 services that maximise your Return on Total Assets (ROTA).What makes us good at one, makes us even better at the other! Our secret ingredient is our operating framework which maximises synchronised flow, optimises costs and minimises waste through your factory. Check out our website or the info in my "FEATURED" section above which explains our unique approach. We are dedicated to providing Factory Analytics and Project Design services that deliver a measurable increase in the Return On Total Assets (ROTA) in your highly complex technical environment. If you just want to stay in touch and get ready access to the free information that I share on Linkedin then just click the blue "Follow" button above or connect.Even better, I love to chat about "impossible" problems in existing and future factories. I'm always happy to have a free virtual or physical coffee to discuss your biggest challenges. Just connect, message me or send an email to paul@bullantcreative.com. I read every message and email.

Factory Analyst & Project Designer

Albury, Australia

I always thought that there was some missing pieces to the current thinking around running complex factories in the process industry. I was still struggling to decode this riddle even after 20+ years at Mars. So I set out on my own, thinking that exposure to other great multi-national FMCG businesses would help me find the answer.Well, its taken more than 14 years as a factory analyst and project designer, but I reckon I've finally got all of the major threads together. Along the way I have met some really smart people in some of the best multi-national businesses within the process industry. They have helped me to develop and deploy a new way of designing and optimising complex factories. They have also walked by my side as I've made some mistakes and they have been humble enough to let me see some of their missteps. These experiences have all added to what is now, a very robust view of factory design and performance improvement in the process industry.I've included links to some of these business partners below as a nod to their support. If you want to know more about what we have learnt then please refer to the video in the FEATURED section above or visit my website at www.bullantcreative.com.

Chief Engineer Australia/New Zealand

Finally got the new $40million factory commissioned and plugged into the supply network. Enjoyed being part of the senior supply team and helping to formulated a >$150million capital strategy.

Jan 2005 - Jun 2010

Plant Manager Wodonga

Started managing the execution of the new $40million factory while at the same time managing 3 manufacturing plants for the business unit. To be honest this was a blur. I can recall that sleep was precious.

Jan 2005 - Jan 2006

Engineering And Maintenance Manager

Back to managing engineering and maintenance again. Then I was asked to relocate and take up the same role at the largest business unit in the network. As well as my day job, I was given the great opportunity to lead the design and submission for a new $40million factory.

Jan 1998 - Jan 2005

Logistics Manager

Initially I was frustrated by all supply and demand variability. Then I understood that this is a reality for all supply chain managers. Finally I realised that customer service is about facing into the reality of variability and the cunning use of time, capacity and stock buffers. Maximising flow through inventory became the main game.

Jan 1995 - Jan 1998

Purchasing Manager

As a buyer for services and capital I learnt about the power of relationships and negotiation. I also experienced the pain when suppliers enter a voluntary administration process.

Jan 1993 - Jan 1995

Production Manager

Continued to get some rough edges smoothed through the day to day traumas of keeping a factory running.

Jan 1992 - Jan 1993

Maintenance & Continuous Improvement Manager

At the ripe old age of 23 and fresh out of Uni I was asked to lead 40 seasoned tradesmen. Learnt a lot about people and humility.
